Using Twitter for Server Status

Well, we haven't had many problems since 2006 - just a site redesign in 07 or so, and probably a few minor glitches here and there...but nothing worth reporting about here.

But there's also not much reason to report it here, since we're now using Twitter for server status messages. Follow the-spot.net on twitter/thespotnet. Join tsn, and then twitter/thespotnet will follow you so your tweets will show up on the My Spot page.

Server back up

Apparently from what I gather, they were doing emergency maintenance on the servers for security fixes or something like that. Everything's back now.

Server down...not sure why

I don't know why the server is down, but it's not just us. Splatt.org is down, freeformfrog.com is down, whbstatus.com (the site for checking server status) is down, the MAIN site (webhostingbuzz.com) is down...and I'm hoping that it's not another "endore.com" episode.

Site is back

I don't know why it got suspended...And they didn’t offer any reasons or suggestions for things that I needed to do to keep it from being suspended again. They just unsuspended it, and asked me to verify. I did write a fairly mean email to them when asking what it was suspended for, and hopefully they’ll stop doing that. It really is annoying. But it’s back now, and I’ve updated the start page and thepizzy.net/blog with the next step in tsnX creation.

Site suspended...

The site is suspended again. I wrote them a bitchy letter because I'm tired of this crap. There is no reason to keep suspending my website, and if there are security problems, I'd like to know what the programs are that are being run, and what they do, as well as what files the affect, so that I can fix it properly....Not just to be told that my site is suspended, and I have to update all my codes. I don't have time to be doing all that crap.

I work full time, go to school full time, run this site in my spare time, and am trying to build a network, online store, and innovative web 2.0 site at the same time. I'll keep people posted here on this site, since I can't post it in the pizzy.
